Robi is the third largest mobile phone operator in Bangladesh. Robi has more than 20 million user as of August 2012. Robi Axiata Limited, DBA Robi previous name was Aktel, is a joint venture between Axiata Group berhad Malaysia and NTT Docomo Inc, Japan.
Axiata Group berhad Malaysia and NTT Docomo Inc Japan has 92% and 8% market share. Robi is the first GPRS service provider in Bangladesh. Robi Uses GSM 900/ 1800 MHz standard and operates on allocated 12.8 MHz frequency spectrum.

Pacific Bangladesh telecom Limited is the countries first telecommunication service provider. Citycell is the first and only CDMA network operator in Bangladesh. As a servey of august 2013 citycell has 1,388 million subscriber. Citycell is wolly owned by singtel with 45% stake and the rest of 55% owned by Pacific group and Far east telecom.
Citycell lunch their operation in August 1993. Citycell obtained license for operate cellular service, paging and others wireless service in 1989 from Bangladesh telecom Limited. Hutchison Bangladesh Telecom limited and Bangladesh Telecommunication ltd was make agreement to work together as a joint venture company in 1990. HBTL start their commercial operation in Dhaka 1993. In the next year pacific motor has brought 50% BTL share. In 1996 HBTL was named pacific Bangladesh telecom limited announced the brand name as "Citycell Digital".
In march 28, 2008 citycell has been converted in to a public limited company. In the beginning of 2010 citycell recruit a new COO named Mr. Mehbub Chowdhury was brought in as well as a COO , David Lee. He was previously employed by AKtel, Warid, Banglalink and Grameenphone.
Citycell network band is CDMA 2000 1xRTT. Citycell network CDMA ( Code Division Multiple access is an US based technology that does not let the subscriber choose handsets, whereas European Tegnology GSM( Global Syatem For Mobile Communication) allowed to choose different mobile phone as per client flexibility.
All over the country citycell has 860 BTS whereas others mobile phone companies has more than 3000 base stations. Citycell has 10 MHz spectrum in the 800 MHz CDMA band, whereas others GSM based operators are using spectrum of 900 and 1800 band.
The coverage of citycell network is available throughout Bangladesh including Rangamati, Khagrachori and Banderban. Citycell has 6 customer care and around 600 customer care point around Bangladesh
Banglalink Digital Communication is a wolly owned subsidiary of telecom venture limited. Previously it was orascom telecom venture limited of malta; which is owned by Global telecom Holding. Banglalink Digital communication is in second position in Bangladesh after Grameenphone.As a survey of june 2013 Banglalink has 27 million subscriber of 25.7% market share whereas in December 2005 banglalink had 1.03 million connection. At the End of 2006 Banglalink user increased by 257% and stood at 3.64 million. That year Banglalink recorded as fastest growing operator in the world.

In 1989 in the rural areas of 199 upazilas sheba telecom pvt limited was obtained license and in 1996 they are obtained GSM license to extend their business to cellular mobile radio telephone service.In 1997 Banglalink launched operation under the brand name Sheba as a Bangladesh-Malaysia join venture company. Due to chronic feud between Malaysian and Bangladeshi partners sheba telecom had failed to rise the business growth in Bangladesh. Sheba telecom Pvt limited has been changed it's name as orascom telecom Bangladesh Limited in March 2008 and in july 2013 Banglalink changed their company name as Banglalink Digital Communication Limited.
Banglalink has the second largest cellular network in Bangladesh with powerful network by 550 (approximately) BTS and 486 thanas and 61 districts coverage. Banglalink around covering total population of 90% till 2008 and late on Banglalink established their network on three hilly districts ( Banderbon, Kagrachori and Rangamati) with in very short time Banglalink covered the 64 District.

Grameenphone is the leading Telecommunication service provider in Bangladesh.As a survey of September 2013 Grameenphone has 46.04 million subscribers. Grameenphone has 5100 employs around Bangladesh for serving quality customer service and technical solution support. Grameenphone start their journey in Bangladesh in 1997. It’s a multi partnership enterprise between Telenor and Grameen telecom corporation. Norway based Telenor is the largest Telecommunication Company in Bergen. They have 55.8% share of Grameenphone and Grameen Telecom has 34.2% and rest of 10% is publicly held.
